Summit provides consumer and advocacy services to residents of Missoula, Ravalli, Mineral, Lake, Sanders, Flathead, and Lincoln Counties. Summit also works on a systemic level nationally and across Montana to build awareness and reduce attitudinal, architectural and communication barriers; combat discrimination; and promote the development of needed resources, programs, services, and policies. Information and referral services are available to anyone, regardless of disability status, including friends and family, the business community, and the public. A consumer-controlled Board of Directors whose lives have been personally impacted by a disability governs Summit. Summit is funded in part by the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (Disability Employment & Transitions Division).
