Montana Public Radio (MTPR), which began as a student training facility in 1965, is now a National Public Radio affiliate broadcasting to roughly 50% of the state's population. MTPR's eclectic programming includes jazz, pop, world music, folk, rock, blues, new age, and classical music; in-depth national and local news; literature, comedy, and the longest running children's radio program in the country. MTPR can be heard in the Flathead and Bitterroot Valleys, Helena, Great Falls, Butte, Dillon, Thompson Falls, Deer Lodge, White Sulphur Springs and the town where our studios are located, Missoula.
