Your Story – Your History – Your Museum: Located on 32 acres in the heart of the Fort Missoula Historic District, the Historical Museum collects, preserves, and interprets the history of Missoula and Western Montana. Exhibits, education programs, and events explore the stories of Fort Missoula, from the forts founding to the 25th Infantry Bicycle Corps to the WWII Alien Detention Center and more, the stories of the people and business that have helped to grow Missoula, and the forestry industry that has helped to shape much of the history of the region. The main Museum is open year-round with permanent and changing exhibits. Be sure to check the website for information on upcoming programs and events.
